Function:
The Electrical Apprentice should assist in the installation of electrical equipment in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and follow instructions surrounding installing basic electrical equipment.
- Support Journeymen, Electricians, Foreman etc. as needed.
- Be able to identify safety risks and use the right precautions to eliminate the risks
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment as requested.
- Assist in the preventive maintenance for company and/or customer equipment.
- Timely response to projects and repair to minimize downtime for equipment and project deadlines.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment.
- Work safely on roofs for an extended period of time and in all weather conditions.
- Safely ascend and descend ladders.
- Maintain a clean and safe worksite.
- Performs specific job functions as they relate to work orders

Work Environment:
- Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, like sitting, squatting, standing, walking, and driving.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs while using proper lifting techniques, stand, walk on uneven surfaces, manually manipulate, grasp, reach out and above shoulder, climb, kneel, bend, twist, and push/pull.
- Must endure regular exposure to all weather conditions, including hot, cold, humid, and rainy during all seasons throughout the year.
- May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels on sites of projects being managed or coordinated.
- Must wear proper Personal Protective Equipment as required by work tasks, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, steel toe/composite toe boots and high visible vest when working on-site.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications Required
- Highschool Diploma or GED
- Basic NEC knowledge
- 2 years’ experience under licensed electrician.
- Hold or be able to obtain OSHA 10
- Ability to travel up to XX.
- Color vision and the ability to recognize certain colored wires and parts.
- Possess an understanding of general time management, accountability, and prioritization skills.
- Standard verbal and written communication skills, as well as a reasonable level of interpersonal skills.
- Critical Thinking, Time Management, Accountability, and Prioritization skills.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and driven to accomplish department goals.
- Ability to be organized, problem solve, and be solution oriented.
- The ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent decision making skills.
- Detail Oriented- a high level of attention to detail is required.
- Must have a clean valid driver license.
- Pass a pre-employment criminal background check, driving record check and drug screen.
Prefered Requirements
- Enrollment in a Vocational or Certification Program
- Experience in the Solar industry
